Reader Issues

Have been using square for 3 years. My old reader died. I have just paired a new reader and everything went ok. The Bluetooth connection is ok but when I press the button on the reader to connect to the app the message “reader issues” comes up and nothing happens. What can I do?

have already tried logging in and out of the app, turning the phone on and off, reinstating the reader Help!!! Thanks Yolande

I noticed it's your first post, welcome to our community 👋 

 

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your new Square Reader. If you haven't already, please give the reader a hard reset before pairing it again. Here's how:

 

  1. Hold the button on the bottom of the reader for 15 seconds.
  2. When you see 4 red lights, release the button.
  3. Tap on the button one time to get green lights.
