QR Code Art in Show and Gallery Spaces

Hello, community!

I sell art in-person at vending events and do not sell online currently, but I am looking to show and sell work in shows that allow artists to sell through their own means.

I would like to set up unique QR codes specifically for show items for purchase where the buyer can purchase immediately, but can't pick up the item until the show is over. This item will not be shipped to the buyer, so I set up a test item for pick up only. Upon checkout, the link is generating a "Pick up hours error, please contact the merchant" and it will not progress to the payment options page.

More details of what I am aiming to do:

-Pick up only--no online, no shipping. Pick up will be at the show space, not where my business is registered.

-Pick up only during a certain time frame after the show is complete.

-Single item (tax and etc...can I roll tax in or does it need to be separate for QR codes?)

Anyone who has experience with this, I appreciate any guidance.

Thank you!

Hey there @Gr8.. Here's what I would do for your first question.

  1. Go to your web dashboard > Settings > Account&Settings > Fulfillment Methods > Online pickup & delivery.
  2. Click on "Edit" to the right of your location.
  3. Toggle off "calculate and assign pickup times automatically."
  4. Change your timing short message and timing instructions to whatever you want to make it perfectly clear that you have a limited pickup window, as well as that you only have pickup at your show space.
  5. Change your workflow setting to "print order tickets when the order is placed.
  6. Change your fulfillment hours to only have the day(s) you are at the show toggled on, then set the appropriate pickup hours.
  7. Save all of that.

Now when customers place an order, they will get an email with your pickup instructions.

As far as your tax question, that is also an account setting.  Go to web dashboard > Settings > Account&Settings > Payments > Sales taxes.  Here for each sales tax you have, you can edit it to specify if it is additive or inclusive.  Just beware because some states do not allow you do mix these, and in those states all items must be the same tax structure.  I would recommend you consult your state's website or your CPA.

I think I've answered your questions, but let me know if you have any others.
