I have the columns in the Excel file labeled correctly, but I'm getting this error and I can't figure out what it means:
"All item variations must have an option set and an option. Update the missing option set in cell A2 for the item variation in row 2."
Is this to Update a current Library or to add it as brand new?
Square has been doing a lot to Variations and now when using a Variation that Square thinks is an Option set you need another sheet describing the option which you can not do with a CSV file. I ran into this when I exported the Library Catalog as a CSV, but then I exported it as an Excel file made my changes and uploaded it with no issues. I looked at the two downloaded files and the xlsx file had 3 sheets (1 workbook) and the csv file only had 1 sheet.
Since your error is telling you you need to Update your Option Set in cell A2 for the Variation in Row 2 it is sounding like you need to try this as a Workbook with the 3 sheets in the Workbook rather than the 1 CSV sheet. The other thing is the data in Cell A2 is wrong type for what Square is looking for.
At the bottom of your Sheet if you download a csv sheet you only get Items.
When you download the Excel file you get a workbook 3 sheets.
So you have Items, Units and Precision, and Component Inventory.
No where on the Download page of the Catalog does it explain this and people think it is just a format to work with Excel or Non Excel file for other sources.
