Printful Fullfilment and Card Swiping

Hello -

I was testing my Square app and went to attempt to purchase one of my online items that is synced with Printful. The payment went through on Square but nothing was sent to Printful to prepare and ship the item. I'm not sure if the items I have can only be purchased online and not using my card reader and app? Has anyone else figured this out?

I believe you can not use the App to take Payment and have the order automatically shipped to a 3rd party as you stated.  The POS system (app) is for instore purchases so the pos would assume the person is picking up the item when they pay for the item so no need to send it to a 3rd party.  What you can do is use a web browser app to go to your website so the order will be sent to Printful while they are there with you.  I have a website off of Square that I have 1 brand that I drop ship from and when people want to order those items I have to either, take payment at the POS and then inform my drop shipper of the order, or 2 place the order online then that will forward it to the drop shipper.  I have not found a way to have my Square App notify my Drop Shipper of the order through Square Pos or Square for Retail (Free or Paid versions).  

The lower cost way is to take the payment in store (card present) instead of doing the sale through your Square Website because then that has the Highest Square Fees for card Not Present.  Then after the customer leaves or when you have time etc, place the order yourself straight through Printful for the item as they want.

Thanks, that's very helpful! I thought online was the 2.9% + 30c, the same as in person swipes? So long as I am not the one to key in the card. Is swiping cheaper?

Yes if you TAP or Dip or Swipe the physical Credit card it is a lower rate than a not in person transaction.
