In the Square Dashboard I have 2 images associated with some items, and I have designated one as the "Primary" image. This is the image we want displayed for the item in our POS and on the applicable category page in our Online store. The 2nd image is only for additional information when you view the item page in our online store.
However, when I modify the stock for those items using the Square POS it resets the images to using the secondary image for that item in the POS (and in our Online store) instead of the Primary image. How do we prevent it from doing this?
@Luppoleto It probably has to do with only being able to have 1 image on the point of sale app. I am thinking that whenever you edit in the pos app it is pulling that 2nd image and basically overwriting the original primary image.
You could unlink the item catalog sync to gain complete control of how the item looks.
What I would recommend is upload a 2nd copy of your primary image and then the third image you upload be the info image. You might also have to upload the primary image after the info image depending on how the program coding works. This should in effect cause the system to pull that secondary image that is the same and just swap them. This is just a theory and not sure if it would work, but there is some logical behavior here.
I am just not sure it is a bug. I guess I should ask: Does your primary image disappear completely? or only the order they are displayed?
This happens to me too, randomly without even editing the item.
I have 3-4 images for each item, and they are all still there, but the primary changes to a one of the 4 (not always to the same one).
Hi @Donnie-M thanks for your reply. I was looking for how to un-sync the images between the online store and the pos/dashboard but I couldn't find it anymore. Can you help point me to that function? I don't want to fully un-sync the item, just the images associated with the item.
