I need to use my Square Stand at some local festivals that don't offer electricity. Does anyone have first hand experience with using a power bank or power station to run the 2nd generation model?
@prandrews68 You can definitely use a power bank to run the square stand. The base set up will put 19-24 watts so on a 10 hour day you would need 190-240 watt hours of battery capacity. Something like this would run 100-200 bucks. Odds are the stand won't pull the full 24 watts all the time as long as you start with a fully charged ipad.
This does work and even square has a rental/event equipment section where you can rent something similar. Don't forget to include the hotspot/wifi wattage you will need in the size of power bank you buy.

Wow. Thank you so much! If I use my phone as the hotspot, will I need additional watts? I could buy the iPad that has LTE I guess and that would eliminate that problem too. Any suggestion on the power bank or power station that would work best? I really appreciate this information!
@prandrews68 Thats exactly like something I was looking at. I have read the jackery are a pretty good brand and people like them. Also, those things are great at keeping the internet alive during a power outage at home. I don't think it is overkill, because it is a mission critical item. You could save 50 or 100 bucks and lose alot more.
