Pixel 3a Magstripe

Hi all,

I have a new Google Pixel 3a phone (not the Pixel 3). The Pixel 3a has a headphone jack which is one of the reasons I chose it. My square app is not recognizing my magstripe reader, however. I don't see the 3a listed on the compatibility page - anyone have experience here or know how to make the magstripe reader work? I am aware I could use a bluetooth reader, but it's a lot less convenient for fast transactions at a farmers market than the magstripe reader.

Hey @mtnoven! Appreciate you checking out the Seller Community!

There are so many untested devices out there, that we haven't been able to test every single one to know if our hardware is fully compatible. It sounds like that's probably the case with your Pixel 3a. You could try to update your software (if there is an update) and try to connect the reader again. However, if it's still not working, it's likely that the Pixel 3a just won't support the connection.
