When a Square Reader is purchased, all transactions are dedicated to the holders bank account. Is it possible for anyone to divert transactions to an account which is not the holders?

Hi @RonG,
Thanks for your post!
While it is not necessary that your linked bank account actually be in your name, it is not possible for anyone other than the account holder to edit the bank details that are linked to the account.
Square does allow Sellers to appoint their most trusted staff and associates as Full Access Team Members, or Authorized Representatives. However, the permissions granted to such individuals on the account do not extend to the most sensitive actions such as editing the bank, or log in details of the account holder.
The only way in which someone could ‘divert’ the funds, is if they were to log in with your account holder credentials and edit the linked bank account details.
If you have any concerns around this, I would suggest that you update your password, and create a team member profile for any individual that you had shared your credentials with in the past. I’d also strongly recommend that you activate Two-Factor Authentication, if you haven’t already.
I hope I’ve understood your query correctly! But if not, or if you have other questions, please just let me know.
