POS with KDS changing prices and deleting modifiers. BEYOND TIRED OF IT.

I am now beyond frustrated.

Second time posting about this issue and was told to check to see if another person was making changes to me menu items and modifiers etc.  Myself and one other person have access to modify anything or make chsnges to our POS and KDS settings.

Simply put square is deleting my items, changing their prices, deleting modifiers, ITS CREATING HAVOC AND WE ARE HAVING TO FIX EVERYTHING MID SERVICE.

I HATE THAT SQUARE DOESNT HAVE A REAL VALUABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT can onjectively look into the accounts and find the issues instead of telling the customer is some kind of user error.

No real follow up.

Ill continue to deal with it for now until I find a better POS available at my location.

Hello @Kenatoki !

Okay, that's just weird. In my 14 years of using Square, I have never had a time where menu items or price points changed in the middle of things without me or a manager doing it.

Since you have reported it, I do wonder if this is a case where you've stumped the engineers and they're continuing to troubleshoot on their side. Could communication be better? Absolutely.

From our standpoint, I can offer you some ideas. Forgive me if I repeat anything you've tried:

-Make sure your app and device's OS are fully updated on both your point of sale and your kds. Sign completely out of your account on every device before updating them. If your devices don't restart during the updates be sure to do that as well. When you sign back in after the updates the apps will "phone home" for the latest version of your data.

-If you have an online store, unpublish it, wait a few minutes and republish it.

-Export your item library and then reimport it. When prompted, choose to override your existing library. Then do the sign out/sign in trick on your devices again.

-Check your account from a different device to see if the items are changing there too. If they are, it is a database issue. If not, it's a device issue.

If you're still seeing this issue afterwards, please follow up in this thread.

Hi @Kenatoki - Thanks for reaching out and sharing this. I completely understand how frustrating and disruptive this must be, especially during service. This definitely shouldn’t be happening.

Please try the troubleshooting steps @ryanwanner shared below. If you continue to run into this, I’m happy to get it escalated.

To investigate further, I’ll need specific examples of items that were changed or deleted.

If you need anything else, please don’t hesitate to reach back out on this thread.
