Our Club Website Administrators have been locked out by the account owner and former Club member

Our club website was setup by a former member, who is no longer cooperating and has removed privileges from the other site administrators. He was reimbursed the costs and all the content relates to our club activities.

How do we get the ownership transferred, note its likely he will not agree to it. We have the professional level subscription. This does have phone support, but cant find the number. That would be a start.

Hi @SKNicholson,

Thanks for reaching out to the community for advice on this, and sorry to hear about the issues accessing your site.

As JJ mentioned here, there is little we could do to assist with this if the former club member is listed as the account holder.

If you’re listed on the account as an Authorised Representative, you’ll be able to discuss the account with our Customer Success team on 0800 098 8008, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. However, the most secure actions on an account such as updating the login credentials, can only be taken by the listed account holder.

@SKNicholson sounds like the former member is unlikely to cooperate going forward which is not in the spirit of being nice to their fellow ex-members.

It sounds like the account will not be recoverable unless their attitude to sharing access changes, O would prepare for the worst. I would suggest setting up a new Square account, but put the measures in place to ensure this will not happen in the future ie shared access. If there is a website involved, look to screenshot the relevant pages which will help when you create a new site.

It sounds like an very unfortunate situation but I hope you manage to find a way forward
