Brand new to Square. First day open and using it. Looks like it allows me to ring up only one item per transaction?
Hi there @Japarker.. Not at all. You can add many items to a transaction before closing/paying it. Can you be more specific about why you think it is only allowing one item per transaction on your POS, which I assume is the Square Retail POS app?
I’m not using an app, just the Square Register.

As @TheRealChipA mentions, you should definitely be able to ring up more than one item per transaction. Are you getting any error messages when trying to add an additional item? Any additional details would be helpful!
I am not sure what your process is for processing a sale. Meaning if you tap items to add them to your checkout or if you use a scanner to add items to the checkout screen.
Below I will attach a Youtube vide of a Square user showing you how to add multiple Items to a checkout. This person then Deletes the Cart instead of completeing the sale as it is for demonstartation.
You may like to goto 2:45 which is when the video shows the person tapping multiple items to the cart, if you scan items just scan all items before taping Tender.
What type of business do you have? Do you have the scanner?
I have a Candle Business, and print my own Barcodes for the Labels. The Register does support Square supported Barcode Scanners. I am using Square Stands instead of the Register. Some of my Older items do not have Barcodes on them and I just Tap to add them to my Checkout cart on the pos. If I select other Items I can just Tap a few more Items if I choose. To do this you need the item in your Square Catalog.
