Online Store Sales Tax Report

Hello, I've been using an online store for pick-up and to-go orders due to COVID-19. Now that I'm generating my sales tax report for May, it looks like the sales taxes from the online store are just lumped under one category called "Taxes" and are not broken down by City like the sales taxes collected from POS. I need this detail as I'm a food truck owner and have to report sales taxes to each city I sell in. Is there a way to get this detail? I've been changing the store address/location for each online event to reflect the location/city I'm selling in for that day. And yes, my items are set to collect taxes. Thank you.

Hi @ElTurkito- Appreciate you posting here in the Seller Community.

You can break down your online sales if you head to the Orders tab from your Online Store Dashboard. In the upper right hand corner you'll see Export Orders. When you export this report, you'll see all of your sales show up and there's a zip code column that you could sort your sales by, and then also sort by date.

I think this would work for you! But please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have other questions.

How do you set Taxable Sales so that there is an itemized accounting of each sale at the end of the month. Currently Sales and Taxes are lumped in together and have to be calculated by hand.

Thanks for your posts, @alsonsafford, and welcome to Seller Community!

Check out this post by @RHatch for some links to instructions on generating a sales tax report. If that doesn't answer your questions feel free to comment with more specifics about what you are looking to do.

Good Morning AdamB

Thank you for your response. I now realize that it's possible the issue resides in not setting up taxes in the Item page.

I believe Taxes are added, but not included? Susan

Just to be clear @alsonsafford, is this for online sales or in-person sales?

For in-person sales, you can select which items that taxes will apply to and whether or not taxes are included in item price or added.

Let me know!

Good Morning Isabelle

This is for online sales. All items are taxed. My issue is that my Sales Tax Report is not generating an itemized report.

I'm wondering if the issue is that the Item is set up correctly. I don't want tax included in the item. Thank you, Susan

Chiming in for Isabelle!

Online Store taxes are indeed lumped together under Online Store and isn't itemized like taxes collected in POS.

Check out Nika's workaround on this thread I moved you to @alsonsafford
