Check to see if it's now included under ‘Tap’ (contactless).
What to check:
- Ring up the sale and tap ‘Charge’ – the customer display should then show ‘Insert, tap, swipe’
- Apple Pay works when the customer taps their phone or watch near the contactless symbol
- If you don’t see the tap prompt, check the customer display or reader is connected and ready
- Restart the POS app and device, and make sure everything is fully up to date
- In Settings > Hardware, look for any prompts to re‑enable contactless payments
If you need a quick workaround, you can also accept Apple Pay directly on a compatible iPhone using ‘Tap to Pay on iPhone’, which doesn’t rely on the customer display.
If none of that brings it back, Square Support can check whether contactless is being blocked at the hardware level.
