I had a bad customer intentionally disputed the charge for $1511.34, then I was keeping check everyday for the first week to prepare for fight the disputed. But he waited for one week, and I forgot to check it after one week. charged was done on May 28th 2024, and customer disputed it one June 3rd. I saw the dispute report pop up on my app on June 19, then I called right away, but it is really stupid told to me: it is too late to fight for the dispute because I missed 7 days window time. I was question about why no mail, email, or test, or mesg from the app when you use? Square responded they did send me email on June 4th, it maybe when to spam. What kind of excuse for that?? One stupid email sent to me, I didn't even see it, and I have been used more than 20 times app from June 4th to 19, nothing, nothing pop up on the app to remind me about this disputed. At this point, nothing I can do about it but loss $1511.34 due to square bad customer service & protection. BE AWARE TO YOUR REPORT EVERYDAY! SQUARE WONT HELP YOU FOR YOUR DISPUT TRANSACTIONS! Your risk if you don't checked your report everyday!!!!!
@sonnyshao Sorry you are dealing with this kind of customer. It sucks. So first let me ask if the transaction was in person and was tapped or dipped? If it wasn't tapped or dipped, you won't win a dispute regardless. You can search the EMV shift and several years ago they made not in person and swiped transactions not protected. This wasn't square but the banks.
You can sign up for square risk manager to help mitigate these situations. The link is below. BUT!!! you do have recourse, although not the best one. Guess what, filing false dispute charges on a transaction is fraud. Sue them in small claims court. Take your proof, receipts, anything to prove they got the service and didn't have a right to return/dispute. Get a judgment and collect. For that amount of money, I would hop skip and jump and do it. Do it in your city and you can even have them served where they are..(not legal advice consult an attorney disclaimer).
The last bit of advice is to whitelist all e-mails from square domains. Sometimes those get lost or spam folder and that is just the way the web is.
