New to Square. How does the consumer absorb the 2.6% + .10 that square charges the retailer?

new to square.  Square charges 2.6% + .10 per transaction.  I want the consumer to absorb those charges.  Say the item is $100, do I actually charge the $100 or do I add the $2.70 then tap payment? How does Square get their dollars?

Hi there, @frmair52,

Welcome to Square, and thanks for your question! To clarify, Square charges a processing fee of 2.6% + $0.10 per transaction, which is deducted automatically from the amount you charge your customers. Currently, Square’s terms do not allow sellers to add the processing fee as an extra charge directly to the customer’s payment. This means if your item is $100, you would charge $100, and Square will deduct their fees from that amount before depositing the remainder to your account. Also, welcome to the Square Community! 🥳 We are so happy to have you here.

You have to adjust your pricing on the front end to absorb the fees.
