I'm looking to upgrade my Square equipment and I'd like to get my square stands wired to the network. Wifi can be finicky sometimes. I've purchased a square stand, iPad, and the square hub with a networking port.
But, it looks like the ipad doesn't care about the network port.

The iPad and stand work together - the iPad talks to the stand via the App - the stand would then be connected to the Hub - hope that makes sense.

I get that, but if I turn off WiFi on the iPad and plug in the network cable to the hub, and the hub to the stand, the app just says it doesn't have a network connection.

From Squares Hardware page I do not see a Hub for the Square Stands with a Network port. There is one for the terminal and the register but not for the stands. Are you sure this will work for a Square Stand?
Try this to test your USB Network Adapter. Log out of Square and see if the Ipad can get on your Network through the USB Network adapter. Just because you have a USB adapter to a Square Stand does not mean it will work. I have USB scanners some work with the Ipad through the USB and some do not. Then I have some that work with the Ipad but do not work with The Square Software. I am not sure if there is a USB to Network adapter that works with Square Stands. If I were you I would spend a few more dollars and get a Wired to WIFI repeater Access Point closer to your Stands. That is what I did. I already had a 10/100 cable from the office to my front counter. I connected a Netgear EAX20 wireless /wired repeater. Best Buy and Staples have these for $130. There are cheaper repeaters you can get than this or even turn an old router into an access point or repeater if you have one laying around. My stands do not drop at all. You already have the 10/100 wire there that you are attempting to plug into your Stand, plug it to the Repeater then you can also plug in a Network receipt printer right there also to share between Stands if you want. That is how my front register is setup, One stand for Cash and Credit Cards, and one for Credit Card only. Both print from same receipt printer which can open the cash drawer. But when we do cash from both it messes us up because both stands are pulling from one Cash Drawer. That is why we have the one that is to only be used for Credit Cards. Then you also have a stronger Wifi by the Stands for you checking other things if needed

I am not sure, and the buttons for company support doesn't work on Chrome or Firefox for me. It won't even let me contact sales to ask, the form just spins. I am leaning that way, but I would like to hear from someone who works here before I tell my boss that we'll have to return this and get a different set of equipment.
