NO ABN UPDATE - Does this mean I lose all my data?

I see you can't update or change your ABN, my company has changed and this means I need to set up a brand new account.

Can I transfer data to this new account such as sales reports, client info etc or does this mean all this data is lost and the last few years of using square has been a waste?

Hi @BWatkins,

I apologise for the delay in getting back to you here. It looks like your post slipped through the cracks!

Unfortunately, the ABN on your Square Account cannot be changed.

Your Square account is linked to an ABN/ACN provided during the initial setup, and updating this information involves a business structure change that we currently cannot accommodate.

Here's a guide on how to proceed with a new Square Account using the new ABN:

1. Set up a new account using an email address not already associated with Square. You can use a temporary email address created solely for this purpose. For guidance on setting up a new account and required information, refer to our Support Centre.
2. When creating the new account, you can use the same business name and bank account as the original account.
3. Download your payment history from your previous account.
4. Migrate your item library from the old account to the new one.

I hope this information helps! Let me know if anything else comes up.
