Hey @Kokodabill,

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear about the trouble connecting your Square Reader to your new phone. The Samsung S22 is listed as a compatible device with our contactless and chip reader. Have you had a chance to go through these troubleshooting steps yet? I'll be keeping an eye out for your reply!

I got the Geeks in and they fixed it. They had to go into Hardware on the Square App to activate the phone, but this is not shown anywhere on the Square site.

Who did you contact to activate the App on the S22?  I can't get it to pair with my Square reader either.

Hey there @JLynne,

Another thing you could try on your Android device in the meantime is to check whether you currently have developer options enabled, which will prevent you from accessing the Square Point of Sale app and connecting with your reader.

To turn off developer options on your device, you may need to first activate it for the menu option to appear in your device Settings. Please follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to Settings > Developer Options on your device.
2. Toggle Developer Options off.

If you can’t see the Developer Options menu:

1. Tap About Device.
2. Tap Build Number 7 times. You will see a prompt on the screen indicating developer options are enabled.
3. Tap the back arrow to navigate back to Settings.
4. Tap Developer Options.
5. Toggle Developer Options off.

This will disable Developer Options on your device. Please open the Square Point of Sale app and try to connect with your reader again.

If the reader still does not pair, please try the following steps:

1. Go to Settings on your device.
2. Tap on More Settings.
3. Disable the button ‘Allow Hisuite to use HDB’.

Since developer mode is activated within the Android system, you may need to factory reset your device, or reach out to your service provider in order to resolve this issue. We can attempt the above troubleshooting steps, but this may require additional assistance from your device’s provider.
