You can assign items to specific locations in your back end and later break up the funds based on reporting, but Square does not currently allow a single transaction to be assigned to multiple locations. Each transaction is tied to a single location, so splitting it at the item level wouldn’t be feasible. I suspect this limitation is due to tax reporting and other compliance issues that could arise from processing a payment across multiple locations in one go.
