Hello,
I sell individual chocolates and chocolates in boxes as modifiers. I would like for the customer to have the ability to fill up a box of chocolates with whatever item they want in my inventory and it be tracked. The issue is when I sell out of a product in the store it won’t automatically show up as sold out in my modifiers. Can we make items available as modifiers so that they can be tracked?
Also, Is there a way to add quantity to a modifier? I have customers who want to add 2 of one item, 3 of another, 6 of a different one and all go into the same box. There isn't an option for this?
Sorry, I'm not sure how this works. Does someone respond to this or am I talking to myself?
While you can't track inventory with a modifier, you can track how many have been sold with the modifier report @Sharifharb. At this time, it is not possible to associate a quantity with a modifier. I hope this helps provide some clarity to how item modifiers work! ✨
Hi Valentina,
I understand how to use the modifier report. But it truly is an inconvenience to have to manually update a modifier when you sell out of one. Is there another way to do this?
Got it, @Sharifharb!
Sounds like the best way for you to set this up would be to create each different chocolate as an item. That way, you can track inventory for each of your chocolates. My advice would be to place a banner on your website, or include a bit in the description of the items, informing your customers that one order = one box. Then they can select all the chocolates they want to be included in one box, in one order, and you can track inventory per item.
Thanks for the advice but I don't think that would be a very professional thing to do. I don't know if you understand a lot about my business but if my customers have an option accidentally order 1 extra item that will fit in the box than they will. Murphy's law.
Is there another company you recommend that is better suited for my needs?
