Matching transactions to customer

Hi Guys, 

How do you match transactions to existing customers?

My partner is still learning how to use the square app and is not selecting the customer from the list, so therefore I have several unknown customers and a list of transactions I have to match up.

We are a relatively new business so up until now I have been adding the new customer details on the 'edit customer' option on each transaction.

I cannot see where I can match the transaction to an existing customer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for getting in touch.

 

If you've not previously been assigning customers to transactions, there's unfortunately no way to find out who the customer was for a given transaction via Square. If you do know who the customer was for a transaction on Square that currently has no assigned customer contact, you can retrospectively add customer details to a transaction by:

 

1) Locate the transaction via your Square Dashboard.

2) Click on the applicable transaction to bring up further info.

3) Click the "..." button then "Edit Customer"
