Login restricted

When trying to set up a new iPad to use the restaurant app we get this error:

 

“login restricted, device code can only be used on point of sale app”

 

can’t see a separate code for the restaurant app,  any help would be great

Solution

:EDIT: I've assumed that you're already using Square Restaurants in some way. If you're not, then you just need to activate it first in the dashboard (right hand menu, normally towards the bottom) for either the free plan or the subscription. Then when you add a device to get the code you'll be given the screen below, specific to running Square Restaurants (although you can also run the standard app along side this too).

If you log into your Square dashboard & head over to devices in the left menu you can set up your 2nd iPad there. 

Each code is specific to an individual iPad, so you just need to "Add Device" (top right of the screenshot below) to get a login code 👍🏻
