The staff have a passcode to use the till however the past week it randomly logs them out in the middle of a transaction and the only way to get back to the transaction/till screen is to give them my owner passcode? This then allows them to gain access to the back office and report’s constantly… what’s going on?

That definitely seems unusual. Are you using the Square Register, Square Stand, or another device?
First, I’d recommend making sure your device is fully updated with the latest version of Square software and, if you’re using a Stand, the latest iOS as well.
It sounds like the issue might be related to connectivity, which often happens with outdated software.
