Loans

Hey everyone! Just received my first pre-approved loan. I accepted the loan but square has requested a photo of my passport and SS CARD. My credit score is not the best and worried it might not get approved. I provided my EIN so hopefully they’ll pull my business credit score instead. Any advice?

Hi @Mtc12.  Square does not consider either personal or business credit reports in the loan approval process.  So there is no worry on that front. The information they requested is required by the federal Patriot Act that requires Square to verify the identification of people receiving loans.  It’s the same as what is required to open bank accounts anywhere in the country.

Having said that, Square Loan offers are not pre-approved.  They never have been.  Now that you have accepted the offer, Square will do a final and more comprehensive review of your account and transactions with them, and if everything looks ok in that manual review then you will receive your funds.

Here is a link  to a helpful Square Loan help article.  There are lots of helpful links there about the entire loan process.

Good luck.
