Keep Income Reports Clean!

Hey there.  I'm new to Square, and have something specific i'm attempting to learn about and work through.  And I'm trying to set up a standard protocol for charging clients and getting them the info they need for insurance reimbursement.

My clients ideally will set their own appointments.   I need to make a custom invoice (not a receipt) that can be marked paid and will act as a superbill, submittable for insurance reimbursement.

After my very first client appointment, I attempted to pay myself through this superbill invoice, but the square system didn't let me do that.  So I used the calendar and the client's uploaded credit card information added when they made the appointment--I clicked their calendar date, paid myself, and then marked the superbill "paid--other."

The square evening report tallied that appointments amount as double.

I would like to mark the superbill paid in a way that it doesn’t count as income.  Does anyone know how I can easily do this?  (Maybe without issuing a refund, unless that's the only way...) I'm trying to establish a good routine for myself and clients.  I would like to "pay myself" rather than waiting for clients to pay their invoices.  It's easier and cleaner for me.

Thanks so much if you're able to shed some light!
