Not only is item sync adding additional steps to my workflow now Photo Studio by Square is not working properly. What was a three step process has now become a seven step process. They changed Item Sync so even if your settings are correct you must add the item from the Online Site Items using a button called Add From Library and check a box and save it.
If you then use the Photo Studio app to take a picture of the item and associate it with the item you will need to go back to Add From Library and search for your item yet again and save it again.
Square is moving backwards...really seems the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.

Hi @StuartC. While I can’t help with your Photo Studio issues, having never used it, I think I can help with your sync from the item catalog to the online store. It’s not really broken, but it is different which can make it seem broken. I think this new functionality was added to allow sellers to control which online sales channels they wanted to use for each item, rather than assuming that all items go on all channels.
When you are adding a new item to your catalog, if you scroll down to nearly the bottom, you’ll see a section titled “Square Online Settings.” Your website shop should be listed there, and all you need to do is toggle that ON and it will sync to the online store. There might be a delay, but it should work in a few minutes at most. You can also use this section to add your item(s) to other online sales channels that you might have.

The problem with this is working on the dashboard Items Library side. Items need information added that are only on the Online items side such as gift option, categories, fulfillment options, weight etc. So if I have to first open the Item Library side first to choose which channel to use, I would then need to go to the online site items side to enter above mention options. There is an option to edit in the the Site items side from the Items library side but you need to first save that item after choosing the channel and then reopen it and select the edit in Square Online button....a whole bunch of extra steps either way. I am trying to run a business not stay all day bouncing back and forth in Square
