Hey there @LaCyclerie. That is sort of possible, but not exactly in the manner you might think. From the item catalog list you show in your screen show, if you click the + button in the header line you can remove unneeded columns from the display. This will have the effect of enlarging the space available for the description. But it will NOT show the full description for really long descriptions. But, I hope that will help a little.
Otherwise, you can head over to the Ideate Board and submit a feature request. That will alert the product team and give them information about why this is important to you. Then it will start an evaluation process that hopefully results in a change on the product roadmap. Good luck@
