Is there a way to add a credit card transaction fee automatically rather than using the surcharge?

I want to have all square transaction fees added automatically when someone pays with a credit card. Is this possible? I don't want to have to add it manually.

Hi @texas2023.  For transactions through your Online Store, there is.  You just set up the service charge and tell it to automatically apply to online transactions.

 

For POS, there is not and I doubt there ever will be.  Square is bound by in-person transaction rules from Visa/Mastercard (and some states) that I believe restrict them from doing this automatically.  However, if you want to try your luck, you can submit a feature request to the POS Team on this Ideate Board.  They will review it and let you know their decision.  The regulations in this area are constantly changing lately.
