Is it somehow possible to skip the 'New sale' screen?

Hi there,

 

Does anyone know if it's possible to skip the 'New sale' screen that appears after an order has been taken?

 

I'm keen to minimise the amount of clicks required during service in order to speed things up.

 

Hope it's possible and that someone here can help guide me a bit as to how!

Hi @skafte, apologies for the delay !

 

Were you able to find the "Skip Receipt Screen" on the Terminal ? If not you can find the feature in More > Settings > Checkout > Receipts.

 

However, note that we're currently experiencing an issue where the Point of Sale doesn't skip the receipt screen even though the feature is enabled. Our engineers are currently working on a fix. The workaround is to toggle the Skip Receipts feature on and off multiple times until it's saved. I'll also be posting updates in this existing thread.

 

As for skipping the "New Sale" screen, this would be a feature request which you can file here.

Thanks for your response.

 

We're using an iPad and the Square Point of Sale app. The iPad is connected to a Terminal for taking payment.

Hi @skafte, just taking over for Frances on this one. 

 

The Square Point of Sale app and Terminal give you the option to skip the receipt screen to help speed up checkout. Enabling this setting should remove the 'New Sale' option. 

 

When enabled, only emailed receipts will be sent to customers who have previously opted to receive them.

 

When you have a moment can you try to enable this setting on both your Terminal and Point of Sale app: 

  1. From the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen, tap More > Settings > Checkout > Signature and Receipt.
  2. Toggle Skip Receipt Screen on.

If you could try a test transaction and then let me know if this prompt disappears. If it doesn't, I'll do some further investigating!

Thanks for your response!

 

I've just double-checked and the 'Skip Receipt Screen' is indeed already enabled:

However, we still get the 'New sale' screen after each sale:

I can't find anywhere on the Terminal to disable the 'Skip Receipt Screen' as we're using it as an extension of the iPad only for taking payments and not for putting in orders:

Any other ideas as to how to avoid the 'New sale' screen? Your help is greatly appreciated.

PS. I do appreciate the confirmation that the order has gone through, but I wish we didn't have to push the 'New Sale' button after each sale as it slows down service.
