I've seen hundred upon hundreds if not thousands of comments about not being able to edit entry mistakes inside the system. This is not normal and all other systems allow this but square does not.
For instance I've seen where we can't correct dates due to invoice date and actual payment misaligned.
Example of this in the service industry we may have to wait 30 to 60 days to be paid on an invoice. This F's everything up in the accounting side for businesses.
Another example is manual entries where a customer paid by check or cash and not by credit card or app. These should be able to be edited if it wasn't paid by credit card or app.
This does nothing to the user or the customer but fixes a very needful issue within the square system.
Another example I'm facing is I entered in a payment for a customer who paid by check. When I entered in the payment manually it recorded correctly. However the problem is when I was done I had another one to enter.
The system allowed me to enter in a new receipt or sale without a customer accidentally on my part but a huge fail on squares part. It should have stopped the entry from going through if there wasn't a customer attributed to the sale.
Now I have a sale for $755 sitting in the square system not attributed to anyone. There is very much a reason for us to have some editing capabilities. And make no mistake about it I'm considering dropping all payment processors and invoicing and using my bank instead of using these worthless processors who are making a killing off our backs for a system that does nothing to help us when we face issues like this.
