You can import a spreadsheet of items into Sqaure however you may need to massage it a little to get it to match up.
The best approach is to export the data firstly to get a template, then adjust your data to fit the template.

The last time I did this, I noticed the fields in the support article didn't line up exactly with the truth, I think perhaps the article was just a little out of date, so don's stress if you see the same.
