Invalid order fulfilment

Got an item with 4 variations. On the item page if I purchase any variation and then try to pay via Apple Pay, apply pay pops up, allows me to authentication/complete the purchase but then on the screen I get the error "Invalid Order Fulfillment". 

On the same item however, if I choose my variation and click "Join/Renew" button and then use Apple Pay it works.

Has anyone seen this issue before?

Is this happening with just Apple Pay or have you tested this while manually inputting card details too?
