Import Customers - stuck on NEXT and doesn't do anything

Hi,

I am trying import customers into square but it doesn't progress once I hit NEXT nothing happens.

 

Here are the steps I have taken :

1. I have downloaded the template and ensured all fields are entered and formatted correct.

2. I then saved the file as a CSV file

3. I select import, then locate the file - it shows the filename, but then the NEXT button top right of the screen doesn't do anything.

It doesn't give an error message, just doesn't do anything.

Grateful for any advice / help.

Hi Jo! Sorry to hear you're having some trouble. 

 

Thanks for trying those steps, that does sound strange. It sounds like it's not accepting the file type rather than anything in the file, which is where we usually see errors. 

Just to double-check, if this is your first time importing a new list of items, be sure to save the file as a .xlsx or .csv. The item import tool won’t work with XLS, XLSM or any other file type.

 

If after doing so, you still do not have the option to import I would suggest getting in touch with our support team directly. They will be able to attempt the import on their end to see if they can replicate the error.

Thanks for replying.

Yes I confirm the file is definitely csv file format.  The square system does recognise as the file is located and it shows the filename, but then when hitting NEXT to proceed nothing happens.

I logged with support but no fix, after 3 months. Shame as this feature would be useful if it worked.  It seems to be an issue related to running Square POS in France but managing the dashboard from  a GB location, specifically related to language settings on our browser and also within the settings on the dashboard.  It would be good if this issue could be resolved.
