How to require a cash drawer report

Is there a way to create a setting that requires staff to do a cash drawer report at maybe set times throughout the day or every few hours?

My issue is that staff are regularly forgetting to do drawer counts at the beginning of the day, shift changes and end of day. They might remember to do once or twice a day but never all. If it's done only once a day and then if the count is off, it's impossible to know who is responsible.

Also, I have another POS system that notifies staff when their count is off and requires them to do a recount before entering that number. Does Square have this feature?

Hi there @JahvaRob.  I did a little research with Square AI to verify my answer.  What I learned confirmed them -- You can manage cash drawer reports with Square, but there is no built-in feature to require reports at specific times or automatically when clocking out, at least not with the standard Square POS.

That being said, IF you use the Square for Restaurants POS, there is a setting to require that cash drawers are ended before the close of day procedures can be successfully performed.  But that still doesn't have everything that you are wanting to do.

Therefore, the only suggestion I can give you is to had to the Ideate Board and submit a few feature requests.  A word to the wise, if you do.  You have a couple of different requests here -- one about requiring at set times of the day and/or at clock out, and the other about drawer counts that are off and handling those better.  Don't try to put both of those into one feature request, or it probably will be rejected.  Submit one feature request for each feature.
