Hi Square Community,
I am trying to remove to make the phone number field optional on the checkout page when buying a product.
I have made the Phone Number optional under the customer checkout experience page in Settings, but **bleep** still asking for the number and remains a mandatory field.
If anyone could let me know how can I achieve to remove or disable or make the phone number field optional would appreciate it 🙂

Sorry to hear you are running into this @R_Bates! I know that the phone number field is always mandatary for pickup & delivery regardless of the settings, but it should let customers proceed with their purchases without a phone number when opting for shipping or other fulfilment method.
If possible, can you share a link to your website with me as well? I'd like to take a closer look at it!

Thanks for sharing that @R_Bates! Hmm, there is definitely something strange here. I've escalated this to our ECOM specialist team so they can check over in case I've missed something. Once I have more information, I'll be sure to follow up on this thread.

Any update from the ECOM team? I need to sort this out as we are going live next month. Is this a one-off in my Square black-end?
Have I missed something regarding more setting options?
Sorry that this is taking longer than expected @R_Bates! This appear to be a wider issue and our team are currently working to resolve it. I don't have a concrete update right now but I'll follow up on this thread once the team confirmed that the issue has been fully resolved.
