Hello,
I have recently created an account. I want to buy some hardware to replace my existing EFTPOS machine so I can process card payments for my clients.
All of this is done in my office and I am using Square via my PC.
Generally, once the payment has gone through, my clients expect to receive a receipt.
Is there a piece of hardware that prints a receipt, or can I just buy the basic POS reader ($59.00) and print the receipt on my regular printer?
If so, how is this done?
Advice is greatly appreciated
thanks
Hey, It depends on how you are using the dashboard to process the transaction.
If you are using Virtual Terminal, you can only email or Text the receipt to the customer. You could purchase the Square Terminal which now sync with Virtual Terminal and this will has a thermal printer and receipt paper to print receipts.
If you use Invoices then you can email and print the receipts using your computer printer.
You don't necessarily need any hardware as you can manually enter the card number into either Virtual Terminal or Invoice process.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris
Thank you Chris
that is very helpful.
Hey @basil_dev,
Thanks for getting in touch 👋
@dimo10 shared some great advice here!
The Square Terminal can connect to the Virtual Terminal on your computer, and print receipts on the Square Terminal for your customers. To learn more about setting this up, check out this article.
Printing via a home printer and using Square Invoices would also be a great option, especially since you've already got a printer.
The Square Reader wouldn't connect to your regular home printer, but it allows you to send email and text receipts.
Please let us know how you go 🙂
