The title of this thread has been edited from the original: square register updated customer display and now says its damaged and freezes register
square register did an software update on the customer display and now its comes up with customer display damaged contact square support or dismiss but the register screen is frozen also

If you don't have any pending offline payments, you could try completing a Factory Reset of your Register to see if this will resolve the issue for you.
