How to enable discounts for single items

Hi we run a busy rugby club bar and want to introduce member discount of say 10% on certain products.

What I would like is to create a 10% discount that the staff click on in the POS and it discounts all items within say Draught Beer Category. I can't see a way of doing this as it applies the discount to all items on the purchase.

Anyone able to help me achieve this?

Hi there @GordanoRFC, thanks for your post. 

We should be able to apply a discount to specific items at checkout and not the entire sale, this can be done with a % discount but not a £ discount. 

Percentage discounts can be applied to an entire sale or to individual items. Pound amount discounts can only be applied to an entire sale at this time. 

I'm sure you've set it up already, but if not here's the steps on creating Discounts from the Square Dashboard or app. From there: 

To apply discounts to individual items

Once items have been added to your sale:

1. Under Current Sale in the Checkout screen, tap the item you’d like to discount.

2. Toggle on the pre-created discount you’d like to apply.

3. Tap Save.

Note: Manual pound discounts can’t be applied at the item level. For commonly used pound discounts, consider creating an automatic discount or separate price points.
