I use square retail integrated with my Wix website. I just set up customer subscriptions on square and created a payment link to add to my Wix website. I can't seem to figure out how to eliminate the One Time Payment Option at checkout though. I upgraded my square to a premium account and still can't find the option to only offer the monthly recurring payment option for my customers. Is this because my website is through Wix instead of Squarespace? Or is there a way to set up my checkout to only offer the Monthly recurring payments?
Hi there @RiseUpRefillVT.. First, allow me to clarify something in your post. SquareSpace is a competitor of Square. That being said, more than likely, this is as you suspect a Wix issue.
When you set up an item subscription, in the Subscriptions section there is a "sell item only as a subscription on Websites" toggle. If you have this toggled on, and Wix is still showing the item as a stand-alone one-time item in your store, that means that Wix is ignoring that setting. Unfortunately, Square can not force them to notice it. Square only provides item definitions. You'll need to contact Wix to have them look into this and implement a fix. Either that, or you will need to move your website to Square Online.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
When setting up my subscriptions in my items, where do I find that toggle? I've never seen that option: "sell item only as a subscription on Websites"
@RiseUpRefillVT When you are editing the item, scroll down to the Subscriptions section. After you click the Add button to sell an item as a subscription, you select the subscription to use, the option will be available (as shown in the screen shot below).
Unfortunately it doesn't give me that option under the Subscriptions. So how do I fix that?
@RiseUpRefillVTMy apologies. I just connected some dots. You actually were on the right track, and I just missed it.
Since you do not have a Square Online website, then that toggle will not be there. You were correct in your initial assumption. This means that Square does not currently offer this as an option for third-party websites/stores, and in order to make it happen you'd need to submit a feature request here. However, as you are probably aware, this will NOT be a quick process. Adding new features to product roadmaps takes months. So, if you need this to happen now, you'll have to have a Square Online site.
Again, my apologies for not connecting these dots much sooner.
