How to connect email pop up to Mailchimp?

Hi everyone, 

 

I'm currently having some trouble getting my email pop-form to integrate with my Mailchimp account and was wondering if anyone can help me out? 

 

Problem I'm having is that when people sign up to my mailing through the pop-up I've created on the home page of my website, their email is not automatically being added to my mailing list in Mailchimp and instead I have to manually export the sign ups and then import them into Mailchimp. 

 

This obviously throws a lot of my automation thats been set up within Mailchimp out of whack as it means that customers are only getting their welcome emails once I notice they have signed up and I can't be checking my Square Up account at all hours of the day. 

 

What's really confusing is that all the integration seems to work fine for the 'email newsletter' option within the website builder. However I would prefer to use the pop-up option as I can collect the names of customers to better personalise email communication. 

 

If anyone can give me some tips and hints on how to set this all up that would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like the pop up is collecting emails for your Square online email database, rather than mailchimp. I see how cumbersome this would be! Did you add custom code for your email newsletter option, but not for the pop up by any chance?
