The Square Stand I bought 2 years ago has a small USB hub built into the cord that runs from the Stand to the power transformer. The hub accomodates 3 devices. We have 3 (card reader, cash register and receipt printer). I'd like to add a 4th for a customer-facing display. Is this possible? I tried using a USB splitter but square Stand doesn't recognize anything plugged into the splitter, then into the USB hub. Is this just a problem with this splitter, or is it somem other problem?
Hi Sunrisevineyard,
I believe that the Square hardware setup is proprietary - the Stand and USB Hub can support 3 devices - that's basically it. The logic behind the scenes (firmware / software) cannot support a splitter unlike what you can do with a desktop or laptop. (At least that's what we ran into trying to figure out some different things for ourselves.)

If you are looking for just a customer display you could use Screen Mirroring from your Stand to another screen. I did this from my Square Stand to an Android Tablet. The problem with any Customer Facing Display and a Square Stand is that the customer will want to sign on the display but needs to sign on the Stand anyway. The only way around that is with a Square Terminal as a 2nd display. I do not think either of these ways require the USB port to be used.
