How do we set an expiration policy on gift cards? We would prefer gift cards expire after 3-years of non-use rather than lasting till eternity.
Square does not offer anyway to do this to my knowledge. For the physical cards you could design up small stickers to fit on the back that would have an area to write this information on them.
You need to check your state laws.
In PA gift cards that were paid for can not expire. If you donate a card to something or a gift certificate those can expire.
Thanks,
But this does not address our question. We understand both federal and state laws apply but Square does not provide a means to set an expiration date on the physical or electronic gift cards they sell as far as we can tell. So how do we set an expiration date on these purchases that are visible to customers?

Best idea so far! 🙂
Address labels work pretty well, you'll need to trim a bit off.
I order generic designed cards and then have my store logo and info printed on labels and stick to the back of the cards. Works perfectly for me! This should work well for you
