I sell places at my weekly classes via a square payment link that I have put on my website. There is nothing to ship and fulfilment is when the person turns up at the class.
I cannot disable fulfilment despite the fact I do not sell a physical item.
I am in touch with Square support, and this has been forwarded to the technical support team, but hoped someone else might have an idea?
The items are categorized as 'memberships - ideal for classes' in the online item set up. This fulfilment issue has only happened recently. There has been no problem for years.
Any insight welcome
Hi @LighthouseTC, thank you for your message and welcome to the Community 😀.
It sounds like you might be creating the payment links on the Online Checkout Link tab of your Dashboard. Could you confirm this for me?
If that's not how you create and share your payment links, can you give me more details on how you create your items? Feel free to add screenshots to your response, this will help me understand your set-up.
Could you also share the link to your website?
Hi - thanks for the quick reply. I create the item in "items" but then have to go into "edit online" to set up the correct category and booking link.
square website is Lighthouse Tai Chi (square.site)
my business website is www.lighthousetaichi.com and the links are posted in 'weekly timetable' and 'class venues' for Tuesdays 10am and Thursdays 10.30am
Thank you for your offer to help
Hi @LighthouseTC - just taking over for Lou here.
It sounds like you are using two different functions at once, possibly.
We would suggest either using Square Online Checkout links and adding a link to them on your main website or using the Square Online site that you have created, but create online items instead of Checkout links.
This is the Checkout Link Homepage.
When your attendees make a purchase, they will automatically receive the event details that you set up in their order confirmation and email receipt, including dates, timing, location and/or the online meeting link. They can also save the event to their Google or Outlook calendar.
It should be easy to embed this code into your site www.lighthousetaichi.com and then customers will be directed to payment page instead of your Square Online Website.
If you don't want to use this option, then we'd suggest creating your items directly from your Square Online Overview here. Doing so will look like what you have set on your website, but checkout links will not be involved.
You can set up membership classes here.
From your Square Online Overview page, go to Items > Site Items.
Select Create new item.
In the Item Type menu, choose a non-physical item type (eg membership, event, service, etc).
Complete all other details (eg add event information) and select Save when finished.
You'll then add those for sale on your website!
I hope this is clear but do let us know if not 🙂
Thank you both for your help.
I've removed the duplication and square site and will just use a checkout link - this has simplified the process. I still get emails that do not tell me who has booked a place and for which class until I log in, search for the transaction, open it then email the person - but at least they do not expect anything in the post now. The fulfilment button is still unable to deactivate so I have put extensive notes in the checkout page and hopefully people will read it. I miss the old system, it was so easy but hey!
