Hmmm...that sounds odd, indeed.

What type of mobile hotspot are you using?

You might also check to see what sort of security your mobile hot spot is using.  If your mobile hotspot is defaulting to a network authentication protocol that the Terminal doesn't support, that may give you trouble connecting.

Supported Network Authentication Protocols Square devices support: - WPA/WPA2 PSK - WEP (US only)

They do not support: - WPA/WPA2 Enterprise - WPA3 PSK/WPA3 Enterprise

Square Champion

does the wifi device just let you connect to it with just a password or do you have to go to a website to log in?

I just click on my wifi hotspot and then the terminal will connect to it since it already has the SSID and password stored.

I turn on the hotspot, everything seems ok. The terminal seems to connect. Checkout screen comes up. Then soon as I try a test transaction it fails and says Not connected to the internet.

@Hydra11  I’m just going to bring back something @VanKalkerFarms @has mentioned.

if you connect to your hotspot with any other device can you surf the web after connecting or is there any other sort of login screen you get?

Then there is also a very random one! (But an issue I actually had with a hotspot here in the UK) It might be worth contacting the network & making sure all content filters (inc adult) are switched OFF. I was having a similar problem that just turned up one day out of the blue & this was the only thing that fixed it - seemed the network were treating the auth connection a little strangely.
