How can I still enable the "skip item details screen" under "checkout behavior"?

As of last week a Square, in their infinite wisdom completely eliminated the option of NOT skipping the item detail screen!! Now when we choose a product, it immediately is added to the check. All other options require the following steps:

1. Click on product after it has been added to the check.

2. Click modify.

3. Choose the number of similar items customer is buying, etc. 

4. Click save.

 

Can someone explain to me how this streamlines checkout?

Hi there @WineSneak.. I just went to my item catalog and edited an existing item.  The capability to toggle off "skip item details screen" is still there.  I also started to create a new item, and it is there, too, but it does default to on as it always has.  You're saying you don't see this when you create/edit items?  If you don't, then you'll need to contact support because this looks like something unique to your account rather than something that Square did in their infinite wisdom.

Skip item details screen is present and unchecked. Yet the POS skips the detail screen. And yes, I did talk to tech support and they are looking into it.

Ah.  Very odd, indeed.  It's working fine on my account, so there is definitely something buggy in yours.  Best of luck tracking that down so that you can get back to actually running your business!  I hate distractions like these.  Sigh.
