The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: "Using 'Other' for student accounts"
We are a school looking at Square for our on-site spirit store. As almost all of our students charge items in this store to their student account, is there a way to use the 'other' option to record those payments? We need to be able to export those student account charges into our billing database in order to include those purchases with the invoice that goes out every month. So we would need to be able to collect information, such as student name, grade, and their person ids. Ideally we would import that information into Square so that it would come up when we typed in the student's name as a customer.
@DuchesneSpirit I use open tickets and the name on the ticket would be the student name/identifier etc. You can then transfer those open tickets to an invoice.
One trick I use is also to make an item that is 0 price called "Notes" I will ring up this item and put the customers name/date/time/etc. in the notes on the item and it will persist even if I merge the open ticket to an invoice.
One of the feature request is a house account maybe in the future it will get easier. You can associate an open ticket to a customer also using the customer directory.
