Hey @KimDeveloping,

Thanks for getting in touch!

Square will always ask whether you would like to send a receipt or not, depending on what the customer wants. Square can automatically populate receipt fields in some scenarios (eg pre-fill the phone/email field to send a receipt):

Note that there will be times you'll need to manually enter details (mobile phone number or email) to send your customers digital receipts - the automated pre-population of these fields is dependent on a customer having opted to use automatic receipts and/or having the customer stored in your customer directory.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions 🙂

@Seamus

I integrate Squareup with Acuity Scheduling Application(http://acuityscheduling.com/) but during payment, it does not ask about the receipt Acceptance option.  here I integrate this  https://medicannahealth.com.au/appointment/

@KimDeveloping if you're using Acuity then the receipt is likely going to be sent via Acuity rather than Square - you could possibly check with Acuity as to whether this could be done, as they build, maintain and support the integration with Square for payments.

Unfortunately though I don't think having Acuity send a Square receipt is part of how the integration works - the way I understand it is that payments integration partners are required to send their own receipts. You can manually send a Square receipt from your Square dashboard by locating the transaction there once it has been processed, though unfortunately I don't think this can be done automatically via Acuity.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help here!

I have the same issue, I use Acuity for bookings with Square as the payment gateway. There is no option to automate a receipt to a customer after a successful online transaction. Acuity has no payment reciept function as it doesn't facilitate the payment. Is there any option to automate the receipt to the customer?

Hi @Musicnt1,

The information Seamus provided about Acuity scheduling is still accurate now. You'd be able to manually send a receipt, but the integration doesn't currently support automatic receipts. I'll pass this feedback on to our partnerships and integrations team. Reaching out to Acuity directly to request this feature would be a good idea too, as integrations are built out by the third party e.g Acuity, rather than Square.

Hello Square,

I would like to know how to generate an automatic receipt (not an invoice) for each sale. I am not GST registered, which means that I do not need to generate tax invoices, only receipts, to be sent by email to the buyer.

Thank you for your support.

Hi there @Brisbaneape!

I’ve gone ahead and moved your post from a Feature Request board to an existing thread where other Square Sellers have discussed this topic as well.

You’re able to provide customers with a digital receipt (text message or email) by following the steps in this Support Centre Article.

As Seamus mentioned previously in this thread, digital receipts won’t be sent automatically, but receipt fields can automatically populate in some cases, such as when a customer is added to a sale, or when a customer has chosen to have their card details associated with a phone number/email address for Square receipts.

Even if this information populates automatically, you will still be prompted to tap Send in order to send the digital receipt.

I hope this helps, but please let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂
