hi, we have an annual prize of a year’s supply of product that we need to track to ensure they don’t receive more than they are entitled to. Would a house account be the best option, set with the total prize amount as the credit limit? Can we also see previous transactions as they are limited to a certain quantity per week? Thank you
@Dandee For your first question, that's what I would do. Your other option would be to create and comp an eGift card for that amount. But the drawback to that would be that you have to pay the card load fee%.
To your second question, I fired up ManagerBot and asked it "do house accounts let me drill down into the transaction details paid to an account." This was it's reply.
Yes, house accounts do provide transaction detail. You can access two types of reports in Dashboard under Customers > House accounts > Reports:
House account transactions report — Shows all individual transactions charged to house accounts. You can adjust the date range and export to CSV for deeper analysis.
Sales using house accounts report — Go to Reports > Payment methods to see all house account-related transactions.
You can also view payments on the Square Invoices and House Accounts tabs, plus the Payment methods page under Reports. Payments made to pay off balances aren't counted toward total sales to avoid double-counting.
I also asked it for the source documents for its answer. The one that applies to House Accounts in Australia is this one.
