Hi, I am unable to entre my VAT Number on my Location - 'VAT Number Invalid' Please Help! UK Based

I am new to Square and this is my first post here. I have filled everything in OK so far except my company VAT Number. I have tried with and without spaces and even with or without GB at the front. I still get the same message VAT Number Invalid. My Vat Number is 9 digits long without the GB.

Sorry to hear you're running into this @johnrichie! Is the VAT number newly registered by any chance? I've seen some issues with new VAT number being recognised by our system, as it can take a couple of working days for the database to be updated. 

If that is not the case, this is definitely something we can take a further look into!

Yes I registered my company in June so fairly recent. It seems to reject it straight away and doesn't retain it. Should I input the number without spaces and without GB on the front? I've tried many options.

If the company was registered in June, then the VAT should definitely be recognised by this.

There are a couple of troubleshooting steps I'd like to try as our website sometimes encounters errors when trying to connect to your browser. 

• Make sure your browser is up to date.
• Clear the cache on your browser. Access the Help menu of your browser to locate step-by-step instructions.
• Switch to a supported browser, such as Google Chrome.

If none of these steps work, I've sent a private message across just to get a bit more information about this error.
