Hi there @Valindia, thanks for your post!

Sorry to hear you are struggling with this. Please try the following steps:

  1. Plug the mPOP printer into a power source.
  2. Plug the USB cord directly into your USB hardware hub*.
  3. From the Navigation bar on your Square Register screen, tap the down arrow > Settings > Hardware.
  4. Tap Printers > Create Printer Station.
  5. Enter a printer name, select the appropriate printer from the Printer model list, and specify what the printer will be used for (e.g. Receipts, Order Tickets, or Order Ticket Stubs).
  6. Tap Save
  7. Tap Test Printer to ensure the hardware is working as needed.

The Star Micronics mPop printer must have 'Receipts' enabled on the printer station when connected via USB to use the cash drawer.

Please let me know how you get on.

Ok, lets first all all double check your Register is running on the latest version of software:

To manually update your Square Register software:

  1. Tap the down arrow at the top of your Register and select Settings.
  2. Tap Hardware > General > About Register > Software Update.
  3. Confirm Install Now. Note: If you don’t see the option to update your software, your Square Register is up to date.

- From there can you use another device to double check the USB cable its-self is not damaged?

- You can also try factory resetting your Register and then attempting to connect the printer following the steps in my previous comment. You can find all the details on a factory reset in this support centre article

From there, StarMicronics have some tips as well,

- You can find more advanced troubleshooting steps for Star Micronics printers here

 - For mPOP printers specifically, this manual can come in handy

If the above troubleshooting steps don’t help, please contact Star Micronics Technical Support directly at +44 (0)1494 688811. @Valindia

Hi Allegra, yes have done all of that but still no printers detected. Is it a usb to usb cable we use to connect?

From what I can see it would be a USB-B to USB-A connection @Valindia
